FIRST FRIDAY’S “PINK” ART WALK

St. Augustine’s popular First Friday Art Walk will be presented in shades of pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., 16 galleries will feature the artwork of 16 cancer survivors including Joyce Gabiou at the Casa Monica Hotel’s Grand Bohemian Gallery and Hope Barton at High Tides Gallery.

There will be live musical performances at various locations and two of Ripley’s Red Sightseeing Trains, adorned with pink ribbons, will provide free transportation between all 16 galleries. Raffle tickets and official t-shirts will be available for purchase at each gallery. Free parking is available at San Sebastian Winery and Rembrandtz Art Gallery. Hi Erin!

I just wanted to quickly tell you how pleased we were with your staff from Casa Monica at Alyssa's wedding Sunday evening. We had a great time, and we felt everyone did a wonderful job to make the event beautiful and memorable.

One of the staff members, a server named Jessica, was very helpful, as well as quick and gracious when asked for things. (I wanted some of the shrimp when she was serving chicken, so she made sure to go get the shrimp appetizers next and make her way to me, even when everyone converged on her like locusts to get the shrimp!) Someone else needed whole milk with his cupcake, and she immediately took care of that, as well.

Guests at our table were drinking the same beverages repeatedly, and after some time "the drink fairy" began appearing at regular intervals with their beverages of choice without being asked. Nice touch!

Near the end of the evening I found my daughter crying hysterically; giant sobs were just tumbling out of her. I quickly pushed her husband away to tend to her, and try to find out what had happened. She sobbed and sobbed, finally telling me that the evening was just more perfect than she could have ever imagined, and that it was truly beyond her wildest dreams. I thought that was a pretty good description of the evening.

Erin!

Getting back to the real world is tough! The two weeks surrounding the wedding and honeymoon were really the best of our lives. We can't stop talking about the wedding. The day was absolutely wonderful and even after going over all the details, Scott and I both would not have changed a thing. It was even better then we could have ever imagined. We received so many complements on the location and service the Casa Monica provided our guests. The food was delicious, the setting was spectacular, and everything ran so smoothly. You and your team were fantastic.

Scott and I couldn't stop talking about the man with the earpiece that kept refilling our drinks for us. He would just appear out of nowhere with our favorite drinks! Fantastic!On a more serious note, besides the impeccable service and stunning ambiance of the Casa Monica, you were one of our favorite parts. We really chose the perfect location for our wedding reception. We loved the whole wedding planning process and you made it so enjoyable. Any time we had a question you answered it and you were always available to iron out any details needed. Also, we can't thank you enough for the upgraded suite the night of the wedding! What a wonderful surprise! When we were talking about what moment was our favorite of the wedding, mine was sitting in the beautiful suite at the end of the night with my new husband, eating the fantastic food that was in the room for us, drinking champagne, and talking about all of the special moments of the day.

The room was the perfect setting to let the events of the day soak in. And what a view of St. Augustine! The next morning we woke up and enjoyed the wrap-around balcony before leaving for our honeymoon. It was just so perfect!

Also, there are almost 2000 photos of the wedding posted on facebook (our friends love their photos! haha). I believe we are fans of the Casa Monica on facebook so I'll try to tag some of the photos that showcase the space....As things settle down more we plan to write a review on weddingwire as well. When we do, we'll forward you the link.!

We couldn't thank you enough for making our wedding day so special. When I say we wouldn't change a thing, I mean it. It was so much more then we ever expected. You are the best and we'll see you on our year anniversary! :)

I wanted to pass on to you the many compliments we received on our daughter's wedding reception at Casa Monica. The facility was great and the meals were wonderful. I felt the service was very good as well - things got done pleasantly and efficiently. I can't thank you both enough for all the details you took care of so I could enjoy the reception - which I did! Any time I asked anyone anything, I was answered pleasantly and quickly and action took place! If you could have just stopped the rain about 10:15 so we could do sparklers...by then none of us were too upset about that even.

Hey!

Thank you guys so much for everything for our wedding!!!!! We had an absolute amazing time! Everyone raved about the hotel and the beautiful location. We could not have asked for a better reception site. The food was INCREDIBLE!!! and we made SURE we could sit down to eat, because it was just too good! hahaha We wanted a place we could have a wedding that did not look like a typical 'hotel wedding' and that was so easily accomplished in the gorgeous Casa Monica Ballroom.

Although we originally thought we would max out the place, some how, even with a wedding of 140 it seemed so intimate and relaxed, yet classy and sophisticated. Our rehearsal dinner on the pool deck was the perfect place for an intimate dinner for the wedding party. We were able to enjoy the people that made our wedding so perfect, in a setting that allowed everyone to relax, yet let loose! and yet again! The food was, again, incredible. All the staff was so on que, too. Whenever we needed anything someone was there to help, and on a busy wedding day with two ceremonies that was something we could not be more thankful for!

Seating Arrangements

So, for all of our future or past Brides, and Grooms, we know what a pain table assignments can be sometimes. Figuring out how to fit 8, 10, 11, 12 or how ever many people you need per table can be quite the task. Especially when you are doing it towards the end of the planning process as you are getting your final RSVP's...

Well, I just have to share what one of our upcoming Brides, Brittany, is doing for her October wedding. She said she got it from a friend, and I know there are a TON of ways to do it, but I figured I would share Brittany's way. She has paper plates and sticky notes all on their pool table and she can move people, couples, whole tables, everything, without having to erase, re-type, etc...to get those tables put together! Fill out the sticky notes with a guests' name and stick them to the plate! It helps you stay organized and it is large enough for you to see and read! Just hope that if you have them on a floor, the wind or a pet doesn't trample on them! :)

Also, Caroline, our Exceptional Events Assistant who is getting married in 17 days....(we are so excited for her) just shared how she is actually doing the Place cards, or Seating Chart, as she is having a buffet style, she doesn't need to do individual place cards...

So...she got a piece of plywood and painted it with the chalkboard paint and in colorful chalk is going to do the seating chart key, that way it is large enough for her guests to see from across the area and people won't be gathered around a table. Another DIY way of being creative and keeping it simple for her upcoming outdoor wedding!

Cari and Phil were married in St. Augustine in May. They did an amazing job of making their ceremony and reception extremely personal by incorporating bits and pieces of themselves throughout the day. After living in places all over the world together, the pair is now settled down and living in Florida. We are happy to have been a part of their very exciting lives!

Because a day as important as one's wedding day can only truly be explained by the bride, we had Cari retell the story herself!

May 2nd was a sunny, picture perfect spring day for Phil and me to get married. Our ceremony was at the lovely Oldest House and Gardens, followed by a dream reception at the Casa Monica.

Phil grew up in Atlantic Beach, not far from St. Augustine, but for the last ten years we’ve lived together all over the world, from Boston to Spain to Ireland to Japan and most recently, Australia. The first time Phil brought me to Florida to meet his family over seven years ago, he took me on a romantic date to St. Augustine. When we were deciding on a location for our wedding, St. Auggie was number one on our list. We couldn’t have made a better choice! Every single vendor we worked with went above and beyond to make our day extra special, and Megan and Erin at the Casa Monica made sure our reception was a fairytale. We were even pampered by perfect strangers – while the photographer was shooting pictures of us outside of the Casa Monica, a man approached us, handed us a fifty dollar bill, and wished us luck in our new life together. Now, where else in the world would you encounter that sort of generosity?!

Our love of travel and my passion for food influenced many of the details at the reception, and the staff at the Casa Monica were more than willing to help incorporate these themes into our reception. Aside from the excellent food served by the Casa, they allowed me to cater my own desserts. Phil and I don’t particularly like cake, so I decided to make my favorite dessert from each of the countries we have lived together over the course of our relationship. The desserts were displayed beautifully and much appreciated by the guests. Also a big hit were the cookbooks I created as wedding gifts. The cookbook included stories and recipes for food that we had shared with each of the guests, or that reminded us of them for some reason. These personal touches were what made our day uniquely our own.

We couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect, fun-filled day, shared with all the people we love most in the world. And we thank the Casa Monica for making it all possible! Perhaps our favorite couple to host their wedding at The Casa Monica, Erin and Steve, were an absolute delight to assist in their planning process! We simply fell in love with the two of them, along with their families, to the point where we were actually sad when their special day had passed.

Erin and Steve tied the knot on a Friday evening in October. Their ceremony was held at St. Augustine’s Oldest House Gardens, followed by a trolley ride to an unbeatable cocktail hour and reception on the pool deck at The Casa Monica Hotel.

The theme of the evening was casual elegance. Citrus accents added a unique burst to the light and clean décor. The atmosphere was fun and exciting, and the guests without a doubt experienced an evening they will not soon forget!

I just want to say a BIG thank you to all of the wonderful couples that stopped by the Casa Monica Hotel and Details Flowers and Photography booths this past Sunday at the Bridal Fantasy!

It was a great show and the Casa Monica Hotel looks forward to welcoming our new couples and families to the Casa Monica experience!

Casa Monica's Group Wedding Tasting

The Casa Monica hosts a Group Wedding Tasting for our current Brides and Grooms a few times a year. It is a great way for Caroline and I to meet with our current clients, meet some family members and for our couples to network with other Casa Monica couples...and to try the food!

All of our Casa Monica couples, during the planning of their wedding have the opportunity to do a complimentary tasting, and the Group Tastings tend to be the most popular. It is an afternoon to look, smell and taste the amazing foods that will be served at their own weddings. It hopefully helps them make decisions about their menu items, however, it can make it a bit difficult when everything is so good! It also gives our couples the opportunity to see different table set ups, linen swatches and other fun embellishments.

Our most recent tasting was a few weeks ago and we have some of our favorite vendors helping us out! We appreciate their continued support!

Caroline is from Blufton, South Carolina and graduated from Flagler College in 2007 (to all of our Flagler College Brides...now there are two Saints fans to assist you in the planning of your wedding as I attended Flagler from 2000-2003).

Caroline has worked for Casa Monica for the last 2 1/2 years and now has recently joined the wedding team, so she knows the hotel and St. Augustine very well!

Caroline is also in the midst of planning her own wedding to her sweetheart Nate. So be on the lookout in September for pictures of her wedding and her name change! :) Caroline is getting married on September 25th!

Caroline will be working with you, detailing many of your weddings as well as collecting all deposits and she and I will both be taking turns working the actual event day of. The day of celebration began with a beautiful outdoor ceremony on our very own Sultan's Pavilion. The ceremony was ornamented by directly imported Hawaiin orchids that were shipped to the hotel, and guests were entertained by a live cello player from the bride's family.

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the Flagler Ballroom Prefunction Space featuring Citrus Chile Spiked Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and other butler passed hors d'ouevres.

Following cocktail hour, the newlyweds joined their guests for our Queen Sophia Plated Dinner. Jarelis and Hank shared their first dance, which was followed by a slideshow of the two for all of the guests to see. Sandor, the DJ, was a personal friend of the couple. He played fun, upbeat music and the group danced the night away! Guests went home with personalized bottles of Jone's Soda featuring none other than Jarelis and Hank on the label! Those very favors were recently featured in The Knot Magazine as "fun, functional, and totally cute" wedding favors.

About Pictures of Hope

Pictures of Hope is a collaborative response initiated by family and friends of Naomi Williams. Naomi is fighting cancer – Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma - and has just begun a very tough and challenging journey. Please join us as we support an incredible woman who has had a huge impact on our community. This initiative and Blog is for sharing hope, information, dreams, thoughts, prayers and support. DONATIONS ARE APPRECIATED and will help Naomi and Nik focus on Naomi’s recovery at this time where Naomi is unable to work.

Just one month ago, 29-year-old wedding and portrait photographer Naomi Williams of Ponte Vedra Beach was living a normal life; watching her 2½-year-old son Jake grow bigger by the day, running a successful studio and together with her husband Nik of 8 years, they were looking for a bigger home and hoping for a little brother or sister for Jake.

That was before everything changed. What started as a pain in Naomi’s back led to several tests and surgeries and then, the verdict: Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma - a type of skin cancer which has spread from its original site to other parts of the body, in Naomi’s case into her spine, pelvis and lungs.

The emotional burden of this grim discovery and the journey ahead is difficult enough. We can all offer words of support and our heartfelt prayers, but there’s something equally powerful we can do for Naomi, Nik and Jake. Like so many other, the Williams family lives on dual income. Obviously, Naomi is unable to work causing a financial burden that this young couple simply can’t concentrate on right now.

Pictures of Hope is a collaborative response initiated by family and friends of Naomi Williams. We are trying to raise funds for Naomi and her family who have just begun a very tough and challenging journey. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of currently approved treatments - such as Chemotherapy and Radiation - for Stage 4 Metastic Melanoma are very limited. In addition to this website initiative, we have also designed an event called Picture A Cure which is aimed at raising awareness of skin cancer - so that other families can be reminded of the importance in taking measures in disease protection, living in the moment, and planning ahead if disaster should strike. Picture A Cure is scheduled for June 13th 2009 and will help raise funds for Naomi and for skin cancer research. Tickets will have a suggested donation value of $50 per person. Here in St. Augustine we are fortunate enough to have the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and other venues in Jacksonville for artists to perform. Just a few of the celebrities we have had staying with us in the last few weeks have been: Darryl Hall from Hall and Oates, and Joe Cocker .

Most recently, we had Nickelback staying with us, they checked out yesterday! The picture above is of a client who met up with Nickelback while having a cocktail in our Colbalt Lounge on Tuesday night! Pretty cool!

Erin got MARRIED!!!!

On February 20th, I became ERIN JOHNSON! Woo hoo! Landon and I after a long and wonderful engagement we got married at the Cathedral Basilica and then had our dream reception at Casa Monica Hotel in the Casa Monica Ballroom. We had so much fun and are ready to do it all over again! :) The night before we had a phenomenal, intimate rehearsal dinner at Collage Restaurant (where we got engaged!) followed by meeting friends and family at JP Henley's for cocktails after dinner! Then, the day after the reception (Saturday) we hosted a "BBQ and Brews After the I Do's" at our local favorite, Hurricane Patty's. Then off on the honeymoon, we spent a wonderful week relaxing and having fun in Riviera Maya, Mexico! AMAZING!

On another note, I was standing at the front doors of the Casa Monica this past Saturday afternoon waiting for a Bride and Groom's arrival and who walked through the doors towards his car? KID ROCK! Kid Rock had a concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and stayed with us in the St. Francis Suite on Friday night. Pretty cool week with some Rock Stars at the Casa Monica! :)

Hello!!! Sorry I have not blogged in a LONG time!! Between vacations and trainings we have been in and out of the office. I wanted to let you all know what upcoming posts I will be doing.

1. First we have had some intersesting cakes recently! So I will be posting some of those pictures as well as vendors.

2. We also did our first GROUP tasting, what a success! It was a chance for a select amount of upcoming Brides to come in and be treated to all the wonderful items that they would be able to choose from for their reception and see different decor set ups, be entered for door prizes and spend some time with your Chef's, and Megan and I to answer questions! If you were not invited to this Tasting, have no fear, if you are one of our 2009 Brides, you invite will be coming !

3. I recently attended Sales Training one of our AMAZING, sister properties, El Monte Sagrado in Taos, New Mexico, WOW! is just about how I can sum it up, I will post some pictures of the property that we took. If you are looking for a romantic, calming, honeymoon where you can stay at the resort and spa or take a horseback ride up the mountain, go skiing, white water rafting, all sorts of activities. El Monte Sagrado is located half way up Taos Mountain and offers unbelieveable views and experiences!! Great food too!

Megan and I decided since we are a little bit slower this month to take the opportunity to visit our fabulous Orlando vendors that we hope to see more and more here at Casa Monica. We started out with fabulous floral and event design company FLOURISH with Richard and Brian and along with them we met phenomenal designer, Lindsey Luxa, with DRAGONFLY, if you are looking for unique invitations, menu cards, place cards, thank you notes, anything, pairing Dragonfly and Flourish is a smart choice! These two companies work so well together from the custom designed and hand-made invitations complimented by the design, decor and flowers for the ceremony and reception!

Next we were on to the Winter Park office of the Heather Snively and Emily Darling and their team from WEDDINGS UNIQUE, Heather and her team can often be seen on wedding shows such as Platinum Weddings! You don't have to be hosting a Platinum Wedding to have these organized and creative wedding planners. They have many different packages that they offer. Check out their award winning planning and design! Weddings Unique is very familiar with the Casa Monica!!

We then went onto see the fabulous studio of JOHN UNRUE PHOTOGRAPHY. We can't say enough! We love John, Ricardo and Kristal! Not only are these photographers simply stated AMAZING, they are hilarious! Both Megan and I had trouble talking as we were laughing so hard! Quick Fact: among the amazing weddings that they have done, they did Johnny Damon's Wedding!! Check out their blog for the most recent work and start learning more about the dedication and fun they have while photographing!

We ended our first day with special event decor company, RAINING ROSES, meeting Chris, Jesus and Diana. It was great to be able to see the "behind-the-scenes" work that they do! Wow, they make all of their props and design, paint, build, anything you can think of! Raining Roses is hired by many of our Brides for floral production as well as event decor!

As day one ended, Megan and I checked into the Grand Bohemian Hotel, one of our sister properties and enjoyed a dinner downtown, above is a picture taken by our intern, Sarah who happened to be in town that evening as well!

DAY TWO:

Day two began with visiting our Coporate Office, The Kessler Collection, it was a chance to put faces to names and see a small portion of Mr. Kessler's favorite artwork which he gladly shares throughout all of his properties!

We then stopped be to see the fabulous and talented family at BAKE ME A CAKE, at their Pastry Shop and Bakery. YUM!!!!! We were given an entire box full of samples for the ride home! We sat and looked and smelled and looked again at amazing designs. I wonder how people can be so creative with cakes and just how do they do it?! Beautiful and FUN cakes for Wedding Cakes, Groom's Cakes, Birthdays, Showers, etc...Check them out!

We also had a chance as we were heading back towards St. Augustine to see Corrine and Gregory Heck at DETAILS FLOWERS AND PHOTOGRAPHY in Daytona Beach! This amazing husband and wife team have a beautiful studio right off the beach to showcase their distinctive floral and event design as well as Gregory's Fine Art Wedding Photography.

Megan and I truly appreciate all of the amazing vendors we were able to see in the Orlando area! Thank you for your time and we look forward to seeing you at the hotel! For those looking for vendors, be sure to take a look at these vendors!

I had the pleasure to join some of the other Kessler Collection Wedding Teams in Atlanta, GA in July for a trade show at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. What a great turnout from the Brides and Grooms from the area! Thay had a wonderful fashion show and we did a give-a-way for a two day/one night stay here at Casa Monica! I was joined by Jen Hamill and Angela Sheets from the Exceptional Events Team from the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA and the newbie to the company, the Bohemian Asheville (which is opening in December) in Asheville, North Carolina had General Manager, Marc Bauer and Exceptional Events Manager Jordan McKelvy attend.

Real Wedding: Courtney and Austin

Personalizing Your Special Day! Courtney and Austin got married in May 3rd in a beautiful, natrual setting at the Oldest House Gardens They had an Old Town Trolley bring their guests back to hotel for the cocktail hour and reception in the Flagler Ballroom. Their menu consisted of the New Monica Mixed Greens Salad and a customized dinner of Cold water Lobster tail with saffron butter sauce, Omaha Filet Mignon and balsamic demi reduction, truffle mashed potatoes and haricot verts.

They are a beautiful, young, local couple who were so creative in their planning and really personalized their wedding down to the smallest details. With signature drinks and great food, beautiful flowers and great music, the Flagler Ballroom was host to this great couple's first night being married! Happy Friday! It is a gorgeous summer day here in St. Augustine, I recently attended engage!08 hosted by Rebecca Grinnals and Kathryn Arce from Engaging Concepts, at our sister hotel, Celebration Hotel in Celebration, FL! Wow! Is first what I need to express. What an amazing chance to get together with other professionals in the industry and share, discuss, network and learn.

Loaded with amazing speakers as Rebecca Grinnals, "Release Your Brilliance" author, Simon T. Bailey, Susan Moynihan, Harmony Walton, Liene Stevens and Christine Boulton. It was a such a great chance to get to know others and learn about different oppotunities and trends to be able to serve our Bride and Grooms better! Simon T. Bailey , an AMAZING motivational speaker pumped us up about "releasing our brilliance!"

To add to the packed list of great speaker, Rebecca and Kathryn lined up the amazing and talented wedding/event planner, MARCY BLUM and wedding/event designer to the stars, PRESTON BAILEY to come in and speak candidly and honestly in a question and answer session with all of us! I have to say it was an exciting time! We were also given fabulous gift bags, made by Tulla Belles, that included Simon T. Bailey's book, "Release Your Brilliance," and Preston Bailey's book, "Inspirations." Check out the pictures above that I captured with my camera, so exciting!!!

We had a large wedding in our Casa Monica Ballroom in which the Bride and Groom chose to have an 80's Glam Rock/Hair Band perform for their wedding. What a blast! Papercutt really got the crowd going dressed in full 80's get-up with pink boas, big blonde wigs and florescent color schemes! One of the best parts of being in the wedding business is watching a Bride and Groom's personality come out in their own wedding. Whether it be formal, casual, romantic, and subdued or a party crowd, all of the weddings are so special in their own ways! Every wedding is different! Weddings in St. Augustine and Staying at Casa Monica!

We are loving the warm weather and beautiful, clear skies here in St. Augustine. It is a quieter weekend here with one wedding ceremony on Saturday with a small reception and then another smaller wedding on Sunday as well! Landon and I have decided and booked here at Casa Monica for our wedding reception in February 2009 out on the Pool Deck and Sultan's Pavilion! We are very excited. We are going to have our Ceremony at 2:30pm at the Cathedral Basilica followed by a reception from 5p-10pm. In between we are going to have the Old Town Trolley Company take our guests around on a tour of St. Augustine! We are working diligently to book everything else, but it is a relief to have our ceremony and reception booked.

My sister's wedding was the last weekend of February and was a blast!! She had her rehearsal dinner at 95 Cordova, here in the Casa Monica. There were approximately 26 people and it was a beautiful setting in the Sultan's Room. Mary and James Holden got married this weekend out on the Sultan's Pavilion and Pool Deck with a beautiful reception held in the Casa Monica Ballroom. With 100 of their closest friends and family watching, Mary was ecorted down the aisle by her brother who also sang Mary and James' first dance song! It was so special. Mary and James decided on renting black chivari chairs which looked gorgeous against their black tablecloths with silver Simple Elegance overlays and black chargers. They had a designated children's table with a full candy centerpiece, it looked great and kept the younger ones busy and excited! We are looking forward to a busy weekend ahead as Megan will be blogging next week, I will be enjoying my own sister's wedding on Satuday! I am so excited!

Wow, the weather the past few days here has been AMAZING! With temperatures in the mid 70's and the clear blue skies it is hard to believe that it is only the beginning of February! We hope the wedding planning is going well for all. Megan and I recently got back from The Special Event Show 2008 in Atlanta (where it SNOWED) and we took courses in the Wedding Track so we came back with great themes, ideas, and trends! Organic weddings are big, his and hers stations during cocktail hour, the late-night snack, such as mini-cheeseburgers or pigs in a blanket passed towards the end of the night or tray-passed sweets. So much information! It is certainly making the wedding planning on my end a lot of fun!! Landon and I have set the date for next February and are looking forward to the planning process, (Landon has much more of an opinion, even on colors that I thought--:) I am thrilled he wants to be involved)!

This weekend we have a wedding for 320 people here at the Casa Monica. Michelle and Richard are beginning their special journey with their ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica followed a trolley bringing their guests to the hotel. They will start their celebration with a cocktail hour of signature drinks, (Sangria and Mojitos), and butler passed hors d'oeuvres in the Flagler Ballroom. Following cocktail hour they will have their Queen Sophia sit down dinner on the Sultan's Pavilion and Pool Deck, and then dance the night away in the Casa Monica Ballroom! Following their reception, their guests will wish them well on the front steps of the hotel and see them off on a horse-drawn carriage. How beautiful!

A Beautiful Wedding Weekend

To go along with the wonderful 75 degree weather, perfect clear blue skies and the stars shining above, the Casa Monica hosted three weddings this weekend, two of which were outdoor. On Saturday night, Ashley and Matthew, along with their 215 guests danced the night away with Diggin' in Dreamland on the Sultan's Pavilion. Their menu included a raw oyster bar, butler passed hors d'douveres of lump crab cakes and mojito marinated shrimp cocktail with plantains, a delicious cheese display and the Queen Sophia Sit Down Dinner. While their guests enjoyed the music from a harpist and violinist during the cocktail hour, Ashley and Matthew enjoyed cheeseburgers, french fries and champagne in their suite before being introduced to their excited guests. Ashley is one of four girls in her family and her sister is getting married here as well in May. We're looking forward to hosting another Altenburger Wedding soon!

We are often asked about the various locations available at the Casa Monica for weddings. One of the most popular and certainly most unique venues for weddings in St. Augustine is the Sultan's Pavilion and Pool Deck.

Accomodating up to 175 for a sit-down dinner on the pool deck and under the permanently tented pavilion, this outdoor venue is flexible for wedding ceremonies, cocktail receptions and dinner followed by dancing [although county noise ordinances do require live music to be completed no later than 10:00pm].

From the formal ceremony at the historic Cathedral Basilica to the Casa Monica Ballroom transformed into an opulent wonderland - it was first class all the way.

Another beautiful Friday for a St. Augustine wedding! The wedding guests are checking in and getting ready for their special weekend! This weekend the bride and groom decided to have their wedding ceremony on the beautiful Sultan's Pavilion located on our spectacular pool deck! With the hotel completely decorated for Christmas, the decorations will provide a beautiful backdrop for the pictures. It is a gorgeous 80-degree day here in St. Augustine, the day before Thanksgiving. The holiday decorations are in place and we have just started the "Nights of Lights Season", a time when there are millions of twinkling lights lighting up the downtown St. Augustine area at night! The sparkling lights are beautiful backdrop for the weddings that we have the pleasure of hosting! Happy Thanksgiving!!
